Here at REVdata we pore over car stats all day and sometimes things jump out at us that are worth sharing.

In 1995, the pinnacle of the automotive world was the Ferrari F50. It is still one of the most rare exotics in the world with only 350 ever made. It went 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and had a carbon fiber monocoque chassis that was way ahead of its time. It pulled .95 g on a skidpad test and was based on Ferrari's 1990 formula one car.

Ferrari, Ferrari F50, F50

Twenty years later we live in a very different automotive world. Advances in suspension and tire technology have made it possible to match the handling of that beast for a fraction of the price. Compare the 1995 Ferrari F50 to the 2015 Ford Focus ST. In the Focus ST you get the same handling for 1/16 of the price. And that's before adjusting for inflation.

Or you could spend a couple more grand and buy a 2015 Subaru WRX and tell all your friends that your car handles better than a Ferrari. Because technically it does.
