Top Speed
The top speed of a vehicle is exactly that, the maximum speed obtainable (assumed on level ground). This number is sometimes electronically limited. Other times it is drag limited, which is to say, limited by the air and rolling resistance of the vehicle. Occasionally, but less common, the top speed is limited due to the maximum RPM (rotations per minute) of the engine in top gear.
